Team CCS New England – Plane Pull for Wounded Warriors

August 31, 2011 Leave a comment

On August 13th, CCS New England participated in a charity event to benefit Wounded Warriors.  Wounded Warriors are U.S. troops returning from Iraq and Afghanistan that have suffered injuries consisting mostly of brain trauma from explosions.

Team CCS pulled a jet weighing over 98,000 lbs. 20 feet in 10.47 seconds.  Their time was almost 3 seconds faster than the previous year’s winner.  They think this was due to their ringer, Elly, their 71 year old office admin anchoring the team!

CCS New England competed against 15 other teams consisting of 20 participants per team.  Although they didn’t win the event, a great time was had by all.  After the plane pull, participants stayed for an air show featuring the Air Force Thunderbirds and several other precision air teams.

Enterprise Video Conferencing

February 25, 2011 Leave a comment

CCS design engineers John Belisle and Jason Francois were recently featured in the February 11th edition of Processor Magazine.  The article points out that videoconferencing is becoming a business standard rather than a luxury which can help in all internal and external business communications.

Here are some key points the author highlights on videoconferencing:

  • Videoconferencing can extend to many parts of a business, so think closely about your communication needs before moving forward with an implementation.
  • Today’s equipment includes features that were once considered luxuries, so experts recommend looking beyond the standard functions to take advantage of cutting-edge innovations.
  •  Because videoconferencing can stress an internal network, IT staff must ensure the network infrastructure can handle video and current business applications simultaneously.
